Fake News

“Evidence Based” practice.

Do we still say that? With all of the “Fake News” the past few years and people not believing in science, I believe that this “evidence based” concept has actually given science a bad name. At one time science used to be sacred and doctors never used to be questioned. Technology has given everyone a voice even if some of our voiced are completely out of tune. People have discovered that the so-called evidence has been and will continue to be manipulated. What are your experiences in the hospital with this concept?

I once had a terrible hospital manager who actually threw away the annual employee survey and forged her own. She and the department had great nurse satisfaction scores and everyone found out what “fake news” felt like before the term existed. We need to somehow have more checks and balanced when it comes to interpreting important data.
